Criminal Investigation Division

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the investigation of crimes that occur in Crittenden County outside the city limits of West Memphis and Marion.  The CID division is currently comprised of five investigators who investigate crimes ranging from Capital Murder to property crimes.   Investigator’s duties include processing crime scenes and collecting and interpreting physical evidence.  Investigators are responsible for interviewing witnesses and suspects and documenting crime scenes through photography and written observations so as to be able to present a comprehensible case file to the prosecutor for prosecution and adjudication of the crimes investigated.  Criminal Investigators have a wide range of experience and training which is constantly supplemented with training and practical experience.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office is currently commanded by Chief Todd Grooms.
